CHALLENGE EVENTS

Welcome to our Events Programme!

SPW hosts a number of events throughout the year - both challenge and otherwise. For information on how you can get involved, attend, or find out more, please email Nicky Morgan.

SPW Triathlon  triathlon logo

Each year, SPW holds our very own Hyde Park Triathlon. The last triathlon, held 27th April, 2008 raised over £60,000 and attracted over 200 people. This venue holds the special distinction of being the location of the 2012 Olympic Triathlon as well! You can learn more about the training, venue, and participants by visiting the SPW Triathlon website. Consider participating next year!

London Triathlon and Marathon

Each year, SPW has a limited number of spots for the London Marathon, and ten select spaces for the London Triathlon. If you are interested in participating in these exciting events, just let us know - and we will support your fundraising every step of the way!

Other Challenge Events

Your imagination is the limit as you think up new, interesting and creative ways to raise money for SPW! Consider "taking the leap" by participating in a charity skydive. Maybe this is the time to finally bike across the country and do it for a good cause. There is no limit to what you can do! Read the story below about how one ex-volunteer has taken the call to action by driving from South Africa to Ormond Street in the UK. SPW will help you with fundraising packets, help with setting up a webpage, donation forms, and other forms of support! Contact SPW for more ideas on how you can get involved.

Africa2Ormond: A Cross Continent Trek for Charity

Georgina Cowley, an ex-SPW volunteer, will join her university friends on an epic journey  from South Africa to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London in a bid to raise multi-cultural awareness. This 25,000 mile trek, done in two sturdy Land Rovers, will raise money for three charities: Students Partnership Worldwide, Great Ormond Street and Hope and Homes for Children. To see how you can help them or find out more, check out their website at www.africa2ormond.co.uk. You can even read an except from Georgie's time in Uganda, where she volunteered with SPW, here!
